Andrew Phung is a Canadian actor, improviser, voice artist, comedian, writer, theatre artist, and producer who is known for having been cast as Kimchee in the television sitcom Kim’s Convenience, Eddie Zheng in the news satire comedy television show The Beaverton, and Andrew Pham in the television sitcom Run the Burbs. He spent his childhood years growing up in Calgary, Alberta.
He was 16 years of age when he joined the Loose Moose Theatre Company. Years later, he became a senior ensemble performer and instructor with the company.
From 2016 to 2021, Andrew Phung brought to life the character of Arnold “Kimchee” Han (Jung’s best friend since childhood, co-worker, roommate, and former partner in crime who gets promoted to assistant manager after Jung initially leaves Handy Car Rental at the end of Season 2 and later serves as his superior) in the television sitcom Kim’s Convenience. His co-stars for the project included Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Jean Yoon, Andrea Bang, Simu Liu, and Nicole Power.
For his role in Kim’s Convenience, Andrew Phung won the Canadian Screen Award in the “Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role or Guest Role in a Comedic Series” category in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.
Along with Emma Roberts, Hayden Christensen, Alyssa Milano, Adam Ferrara, Gary Basaraba, Linda Kash, Cristina Rosato, and others, Andrew co-starred as Luigi (Leo’s friend) in the Canadian-American romantic comedy film Little Italy in 2018.
He co-starred as Brent (the basketball team’s assistant coach) in the comedy film Events Transpiring Before, During and After a High School Basketball Game in 2020.
Andrew Phung played the character named Casey in the dark fantasy horror drama television series Wynonna Earp from 2020 to 2021.
In 2022, he started appearing as Andrew Pham (a suburban stay-at-home dad of two children whose wife Camille is an entrepreneur) in the television sitcom Run the Burbs.
He has co-founded YYCSolediers, an online sneaker group that also produces Sneaker SWAP, a Calgary-based sneaker event. He has also been involved in an organization named Youth Central (a nonprofit organization that helps youth get involved in their communities).
