She also underwent five months of chemotherapy and was successful in her battle with breast cancer. She also received emails from women all throughout the country telling her how hearing her story prompted them to evaluate their own health. Following her recovery, she became an activist to raise breast cancer awareness.

After earning donations, she went one step further and established her own charity, The Deanna Favre Hope Foundation. In addition, she is the current CEO of The Deanna Favre Hope Foundation. Her organization raises awareness about breast cancer while also aiding others who are coping with the same problem. She is also the executive director of the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation, her husband’s charity.
