Louis Walsh signs 1million contract to return to the X Factor

Louis Walsh has reportedly signed a deal worth a whopping £1 million to return to The X Factor UK.

If true, this would make Walsh the First judge confirmed for this year’s upcoming series.

According to The Mirror, along with the huge pay cheque – Simon Cowell has promised him a return to televised auditions in Ireland, which would be the first time in six years.

Sources commented on the matter, saying, “The ink is just drying on Louis’ contract, as he put pen to paper this week. He’s really excited about returning, but one of his stipulations was that the X Factor returned to Ireland to scout talent because it was important to him.”

This bribe is sure to settle any bad ties between the pair after Cowell historically dropped him from the show last year. And if the rumours are true, then he could be joined by Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger, who the Westlife creator has previously recommended.

In other X Factor news, this week Rita Ora followed the likes of Cheryl and Nick Grimshaw, revealing she’s quit the show. This is a substantial blow to the show after ITV bosses were apparently keen on bringing her back.

But in good news, an estimated 70,000 people have auditioned for this year’s series – proving the show is still very much popular!
