Three car Melbourne highway accident leaves one dead, two injured

A man has died after a pile up on a Melbourne highway early this morning.

Two cars were involved in a head-on collision that killed one driver, Warburton Highway in Seville East about 5.15am Thursday, according to police.

Police said the man killed in the accident was 54 and old from Woori Yallock in Victoria’s Yarra region.

The crash worsened when another vehicle smashed into the wreckage. Two other men have been taken to hospital with injuries.

A 26-year-old man from Montrose is in hospital under police guard. The driver of the third vehicle, a 31-year-old man from Woori Yallock, is in hospital with minor injuries.

The Warburton Highway is currently closed in both directions from Joyce Road and Old Warburton Highway.
