The Twins on Friday are naming Cory Provus and Kris Atteberry their lead TV and radio broadcasters, respectively, for the 2024 season, according to a team source.
The team’s radio play-by-play man since 2012, Provus is sliding into the television booth where he’ll take over for Dick Bremer, who was moved into an ambassador role with the Twins in late October after 40 seasons in the booth. Previously the team’s pre- and postgame host since 2007, Atteberry takes over the lead play-by-play duties in the radio booth.

The moves come as no surprise.
Provus was viewed as the favorite to land the TV job since the Twins announced Bremer would no longer call games on Oct. 31. Previously a play-by-play radio announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers from 2009-11 after two seasons as a pregame host for the Chicago Cubs, Provus has been popular with Twins fans since joining the team 12 seasons ago.
Entering his 18th season with the club, Atteberry at long last gets the promotion he hoped to receive after Twins radio legend John Gordon retired following the 2011 season. The fill-in as the play-by-play radio announcer when Provus had outside announcing duties or when Provus or Dan Gladden were on vacation, Atteberry has paid his dues handling the team’s pre- and postgame shows for the better part of two decades.
Along with calling multiple college sports, Atteberry called eight seasons of minor-league baseball, including five with the St. Paul Saints from 2002-06.
While Atteberry is expected to handle the lead play-by-play duties if the team returns to the postseason, the Twins are exploring the possibilities of opening up the booth to Provus and other members of the broadcast team, multiple sources said.
